Hobbies

When we are young we are on stimulation overload.  We have school, after school sports, after school homework help, music lessons, the list goes on and on and on... Once you graduate college and join the working world (or graduate school world), there seems to be less time for activities you actually enjoy.

In my profession we have trainings on secondary trauma (the effects of working with trauma victims each day) and self care.  It is taught to us that before we can take care of other people, we must take care of ourselves.  So after years a few years of doing nothing but work, I picked up a hobby.

Jewelry Making!

More specifically ring making.  I started out slow.  Here are a few of my early "easy" pieces.

(Don't mind the terrible manicures)

I find it is always fun starting something new.  Learning "how" is always exciting.. and then it becomes boring, and then we stop. Let's see how long this hobby lasts.

Tell Me: What do you do for you? What is your hobby?
