Being in debt sucks.
I read financial websites. Save a little money every week, end thoughtless spending, no more dining out. It all sounds so easy.... but sometimes I really do want that slice of pizza, or that gorgeous bag, or that really cool vinyl record even though I know I don't have a record player ... sooo that's my next purchase.
Ugh
I was employed for two years before I made the conscious choice to go grad school FULL-TIME and give up my steady income. I was so used to being able to buy my lunch everyday, go out each weekend, shop anytime I want, and still save a substantial amount of money each week.
As the time went by however, I saw my credit card bill increase, while my checking and savings account DRAMATICALLY decreased. When I say dramatically I mean two digits is a pretty regular viewing, and not knowing if i'll have enough is a constant fear of mine.
I know once day I will look back and laugh at how broke I was, and think that this period of my life made me a stronger person. One with more insight on how to manage her money. But man I'm pretty ready for this to be over.
Tell me: What are your money saving tricks?
